For the sixth year in a row, the Blue Point Brewery hosted Sayville Running Company’s 10 Mile run to the Brewery – raising funds for BULA, Patchogue Medford Youth and Community Services, and a local food pantry. This year, over 1300 runners completed the race in what was unexpectedly delightful weather. Hundreds of volunteers managed the course, directed parking, served food, kept the after party tents clean, and helped keep the event running smoothly. The race organizers did yet another outstanding job in putting on the most desirable race on the island. Race Director, Ric DiVeglio, made sure every detail of the race from set up to take down was covered and did so with the kind of spark that gets everyone more excited about the event. His enthusiasm was matched by the team at Greater Long Island Running Club., Sayville Running Co. Just Finish, and the Blue Point Brewing Co., which is exactly how this race succeeds each year, generating new followers.
Needless to say, it is BULA’s great honor to continue to partake in this event and we are always grateful to all those who make this possible. To the race organizers and host, to the volunteers, to the security crew, to the Suffolk County Police, to the Village of Patchogue, to the Towns of Islip and Brookhaven, to the bands that play at the after party, to the local businesses supporting the event, to, of course, the runners, we sincerely thank you.
